Thailand : Hatyai



The Rajthanee Hotel is built at the back of the locomotive.It is good for backpacker who wants to put up one night in Hatyai then then proceed to Bangkok.










1.Hatyai is a city in southern Thailand near the boundary to Malaysia.The name Hat Yai is a short version of " Ma Hat Yai ," meaning big Ma Hat (Thai) tree,a relative of jackfruits.
2.History of Hatyai -Hatyai original name was Khok Sa-Met Choon.It was due to the investments of Khun Niphatchinnkhon (Jia Gi Si from 1886 to 1972,a Hakka Chinese),the railway contractor for the reilway connection from Nakhon Si Thammarat to Pattani.Hatyai quickly grew into a small town.
3.In 1995 it was upgraded to city status(thesaban nakhon)
4.Climate - Hatyai has a tropical climate which is hot and humid.There are only two seasons in Thailand which is dry and wet.The dry season is from January to April while the wet season is from May to December.Occasionaly here will be flood in Hatyai due to heavy rain.The temperature range from 29.6*C to 31.4*C
